As of yesterday,  two more museums ¨C the Guangzhou Uprising Museum and the Headquarters of 3.29 Uprising - opened to citizens for free. Henceforth, citizens can have free access to five museums or memorials in Guangzhou.

The Guangzhou Uprising Museum reopened on December 1st, 2007, for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Guangzhou Uprising. The reopened museum presents declassified documents from the former Soviet Union which show the details of the Communist International. In addition, 3D technologies were applied in the production of movies that revive battles in the Guangzhou Uprising and the birth of the first Soviet government (renowned as the Oriental Paris Commune) in Guangzhou.

Headquarters of the 3.29 Uprising locating on Yuehua Lu next to Beijing Lu, was renovated and opened on March 29th, 2006 for celebration of the 95th anniversary of the 3.29 Uprising. The museum is a common resident three-apartment house of typical Lingnan style, which used to be the headquarters on April 27th, 1911 (March 29th on Lunar Calendar) when Huang Xing planned the famous Huanghuagang Uprising.

Earlier on March 28th, 2008, Guangzhou, for the first time, opened for free to citizens three museums: The Museum of Huangpu Military Museum, The Museum of the Peasant Movement Institute and the Sanyuanli Anti-British Invasion Museum. By the end of July 30th, seven themed exhibitions had been held in the said three museums which have received 570,168 visits.
