A Guangzhou man was jailed for five days after a fake pistol was found in his bag during a security check at a metro station in the provincial capital of Guangdong, New Express Daily reports.

The man was stopped by metro staff at the security check counter in the city's Gongyuanqian station last Tuesday.

He was brought to a police station for questioning after a fake pistol was found when he opened the bag for further examination.
