Guangzhou has another top luxury hotel with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou in Zhujiang Xincheng (Pearl River New City area) on March 11.

It is the fourth hotel in mainland China and the 70th property of the reputed Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C..

The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou is a joint venture of Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. and Guangzhou-based China's property tycoon developer R & F. It is the first important hotel venture of R & F.

Chairman of R & F Li Silian predicted it might take 7 to 9 years of operation to retrieve all the investment in Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou.

More than 10 foreign consul generals, dozens of local senior officials and the executives of international chambers of commerce attended the opening ceremony.

The Ritz-Carlton is the fourth international big name of hotel business that entered Guangzhou after Marriot, Shangri-la and The Westin. It will have new openings scheduled for Sanya, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macau in the next two years.

Grand Hyatt, another famous hotel company, will also join hands with R & F to open a hotel in Tianhe, Guangzhou later this year.
