Zhejiang Xizi Hotel

The Zhejiang Xizi Hotel (Zhejiang xizi binguan) is located beside picturesque West Lake. It is three kilometers from the city center, 10 kilometers from the airport and five kilometers from the railway station. This hotel is one of the older ones in town, and although services are a little out of date, in its time it was popular.A hotel of four-star facilities, there are a total of 200 rooms from standard rooms, with or without lake views, to executive, deluxe, and executive-deluxe rooms. All of the rooms include room service, international direct dial telephones, colour TVs and central air-conditioning.The business center offers standard services including fax, international telephony, photocopying, typing and internet access. The hotel also hosts a conference hall and meeting rooms, great for business travelers. For recreation there is a bowling alley, a gym, a massage room, a sauna, a billiards room, a shopping arcade and even a mahjong room.This Hangzhou hotel features both Western and Asian food in nine restaurants. The highlight is the "Leadership Banquet," a set of homely dishes favored by Chairman Mao and Comrade Chen Yun and some exquisite dishes served during state banquets for visiting heads of states, as well as VIPs including former U.S. secretary of state Henry Kissinger, and former German president Roman Helzog. Dishes are both elaborately prepared and tasty. Famous dishes include Beggar's Chicken, Dongpo Braised Pork, West Lake Water Shield Soup and Steamed Soft-Shelled Turtle with mutton.
